History

The Beginning

In Oct 1972, KPIC began the operation of a PP plant with a 30-thousand ton capacity in the Ulsan petrochemicals complex. The plant, the first such plant in Korea, opened the era of the petrochemical industry in Korea. In Oct 1975, the construction of a plant for dual production of PP and HDPE with an annual productive capacity of 35-thousand tons was completed. These examples show that KPIC contributed to the development of Korean economy by consolidating the foundations of the petrochemical industry.
